About us
My name is Matt Savage and my roots are in the kitchen. It’s where I find a way to reach out to people. Whether I’m sharing with loved ones or new friends. I love how food can connect people, connect cultures and take us back to some of our fondest memories.
I am a Le Cordon Bleu grad from 2011. And first cut my teeth in the industry working in a small diner as a short order cook. I learned the ins and outs of the chaos that is food and beverage, AND I LOVED IT! Post graduate I worked under Chef Matthew Palmerlee of Farm 255, Athens, Ga, and my world came alive. I was 26 years old making close to minimum wage, but I truly felt rich because of the opulent and amazing flavors I encountered on a daily basis. Influences from Spain, Morocco and France were always on the menu, and cooked expertly with mostly local ingredients.
One of my life goals has always been self-employment. So after a few years working in the industry I decided to go out on my own. I built a food truck and moved to Charleston in 2015. It has been a tough road with many ups and downs, but it has been well worth the effort and has yielded a beautiful life, with my wife Caity and our son Jack, who was born just last year.
Our next chapter is to continue to serve the people of Charleston, with a return to roots in mind. Sourcing local, fresh ingredients will be of the utmost importance, as well as working with the fine people of our city to craft custom menus to fit each person’s satisfaction.
